Instructional Design and Assessment

Philosophy and instructional design

I am pursuing a single-subject teaching credential as a Visual Arts Teacher through CSU Chico. I currently teach high school Art 1 courses that focus on foundational skills, creativity, and cultural awareness.

My classroom serves a diverse population that includes English Learners, IEPs, and 504 students. I design lessons that are inclusive, differentiated, and aligned with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework.

Core Professional Strengths:

  • Equity-centered and culturally relevant teaching

  • Inquiry-based and project-based learning design

  • Classroom management grounded in trust and respect

  • Strong collaboration with colleagues and families

  • Digital art integration and technology-enhanced instruction

My goal as an educator is to inspire students to see themselves as artists and problem solvers capable of shaping the world around them.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in constructivist and sociocultural learning theories, where knowledge is built collaboratively through shared experiences, dialogue, and creative practice. I view the classroom as a community of artists and thinkers who learn from one another.
